Here is a pic of the WLV 612 entering
Boston Harbor , October 2002 after being completely restored and re-configured
as a vessel for hire .
This picture is interesting because of the
contrasts between the 2 Lights shown -- The LV 612 is the last USCG Lightship
to have stood a 3 week tour of duty on Nantucket Shoals , 54 miles South of
Nantucket Island .
Boston Light Station on Little Brewster Island
is the First Lighthouse site in N. America and is the
LAST and only MANNED
Lighthouse in the USA .
