LIGHTSHIP SAILORS ASSOCIATION

These Lightship Pictures come from the private collections of our Members and are used with their permission.

This group of pictures were sent in by Brian Bailey

Brian Bailey's notes; The book was published by the Winton Engine Company (later bought by GM for the Winton 2-stroke patents that was the original EMD design).

Its title is, "Winton-Powered Commercial Vessels" and was
apparently an advertising tool to show how many different
ships used their engines (by the '30s, the majority of the
gasoline yacht market and some 40% of the large diesel
market was theirs).

The pictures shown below are as they appeared in the " Winton powered commercial vessels " book, Fourth addition. To maintain the authenticity of the manual the pictures shown are as they were presented in the manual.
