NOTE: Association Member Fritz Heipertz took there pictures for our web site while at the 2001 Reunion in Port Huron MI
This reunion was put together with great detail. It was the first reunion where the U.S. Coast Guard was heavily involved. As was noted earlier all Lightship Sailors were piped aboard the CGC Bramble in opening Ceremonies for the laying of the wreath for Lightship Sailors Lost in the line of Duty.

Active Duty personnel "Stood at the Rail" while passing in review for Lightship Sailors aboard the Bramble.

A Coast Guard flew from Detroit to Port Huron to pass in review for the Lightship Sailors in attendance and to pay their final respects for all Lightship Sailors Lost in the Line of Duty.
And Finally,
Lake Huron can be described in one word, AMAZING! It was possible to stand on the Bramble and look down into water SO CLEAR that one could see sixteen or eighteen feet underwater.
Wildlife

Black Squirrels roam in the Park adjacent to the Lightship along with their white and brown cousins.

This picture was NOT taken with a telephoto lens but rather Fritz was able to walk this close to the subject. People and nature live in harmony in Port Huron MI and set an example for how things should be. This was a truly amazing reunion.
To Lightship Stations and the Ships that
Served on them.
